Innovation at Industrial Scale

At the heart of our Ibeju-Lekki complex, the Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals now produces the highest quality Polypropylene (PP) grades available globally. With a combined capacity of 830 KTA across Train A (500 KTA) and Train B (330 KTA), our plant is built to meet the full spectrum of industrial and consumer needs.

Why Polypropylene (PP)?

Polypropylene is a lightweight, versatile thermoplastic used in:

Medical & Healthcare

Polypropylene offers impressive chemical resistance. Combined with its biological- resistance properties, Polypropylene is an obvious choice for medical industry. Non-woven fabrics- produced to protect Health care workers from any infections such as Sanitary diapers, wipes, caps, masks, caps to maintain health and hygiene.
The production of disposable injection syringe, medicine packaging and transparent fluid bags and many more medical requirements.

Furniture & Houseware

Polypropylene is frequently used to create home furnishings like floor coverings, with the thermoplastic fibers offering excellent durability that copes well with heavy foot traffic. Furthermore, PP has superior color fastness, ensuring goods like rugs and carpets remain looking their best for years.
The furniture and houseware produced from the PP homopolymer are distinguished by its strength and durability. This is due to its low density and mechanical properties.

Rigid & Flexible Packaging

PP films’ excellent optical clarity and low moisture-vapor transmission make them suitable for use in food packaging. They can be used in the production of oriented, bi-oriented, and cast films and foils.
PP is also blow molded to produce crates, bottles, and thin-walled containers that are commonly used for food packaging.

Automotive Industry

Due to its low cost, outstanding mechanical properties, and excellent moldability, PP is widely used in automotive parts such as battery cases and trays, bumpers and fender liners, interior trims, and instrument panels.
Its low coefficient of linear thermal expansion, specific gravity, high chemical resistance, good weatherability, processability, and balanced impact/stiffness ratio also contribute to its broad application in the automotive industry.

Fibers & Fabrics

Dangote PP, due to its excellent processability and good mechanical properties, is suitable for producing PP fiber used in raffia/slit films, tape, strapping, bulk continuous filament, staple fibers, spunbond, and continuous filament. It is also ideal for making PP ropes and twine suitable for marine applications.

We currently offer 12 premium-grade Homopolymer Polypropylene products — with the capacity to deliver up to 155 grades to meet diverse global demands.

Our PP Product Grades

We offer 155 different PP grades, ensuring unmatched flexibility and supply reliability for local and global markets:

PP Type Number of Grades
Homopolymer 12
Each grade is manufactured with INEOS, USA-licensed technology—ensuring international standards of quality and performance.

99%

It is also recyclable, durable, and cost-efficient, with properties that support sustainability goals.
